What's a Life Coach?

When I first embarked on my journey to become a life coach, and even still now when I tell people what I do, I am often met with resistance and confusion. What is a life coach?

The role of a life coach can often be mistaken for that of a counselor. While both seek to improve the quality of life for a person, they do it in entirely different ways.

A counselor helps you get through something, while a life coach helps you get to something.

Think really hard for a second, is there something deep in your heart that calls you? Is there something that you are dying to achieve but don't think there is ever a possibility you will get there?

We all have that something.

With a coach, believe it or not, that tiny whisper can become a reality. In a matter of months, you could be on your way to living your absolute best life.

Coaches offer:

  • A safe space- Often times when we feel the call to make major life changes, we are surrounded by people who don't quite understand why we want what we want. This doesn't mean that they don't care about us, but it can be incredibly hard to make changes if we are not surrounded with the support that we need. Even the most loving and caring person in our lives can blow out the spark of possibility just because they are placing their opinions and worries on to you. With a coach, you are guaranteed to always have someone who has your back, who knows what you want and will support you 100% along the way.

  • Accountability- Feeling supported is an amazing thing, but will only take you so far. Even if you are blessed to be around only people that believe in your dreams, it can be easy to get off track. A coach is someone that will make sure you keep moving forward and will help you stay connected to the "why" of your goals.

  • Perspective- Since a coach is a completely unbiased party, they often can help you see your life and goals in a completely different way. They are there to listen and help you uncover the inner wisdom you already possess about who you are and how to live your best life. The goal of a life coach is to not only help you achieve your goals, but for you to also reach self actualization, a.k.a. help you realize all the potential you hold within you.

  • There is a coach for everyone!- Every life coach has their own niche or expertise, which means that no matter what it is that you want to achieve, whether it be becoming the healthiest you have ever been, falling in love with yourself, finding your soulmate, discovering your life purpose, etc. there is going to be someone who knows exactly what you seek and can help you break it down into easy and achievable steps.

The ability to live our best life is always within reach. All it takes is recognizing that you are worth more than what you are settling for. All of the people you look up to, and that are living the life you dream of, started off exactly where you are right now. There is only one difference....

They decided to go for it.

Right now is a better time than any to change your life! I hope you never let a dream too big keep you from making it a reality.

Hugs & High Fives,

B
